Event time converter: market releases in your timezone
Type a scheduled announcement time and its source timezone to see that exact moment in your local timezone, UTC, London and Mumbai.
Converting High-Impact Economic Release Times Accurately
Major economic releases—such as US Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) at 08:30 Eastern Time, or Federal Reserve FOMC interest-rate decisions at 14:00 Eastern Time—trigger immediate spread widening and slippage across stocks, forex, gold and crypto. Enter the release time and source zone above to see the exact moment in your local timezone, UTC, London and Mumbai. Always confirm the official release date on the issuing statistical agency’s calendar.
Common release times
Many scheduled releases happen at the same local time each month. These are the usual times in the issuer’s own city; check the official calendar for the exact date and any changes.
| Release | Usual local time | Time zone to pick |
|---|---|---|
| US consumer prices (CPI) and the monthly jobs report | 08:30 | New York |
| US Federal Reserve (FOMC) rate decision | 14:00 | New York |
| European Central Bank rate decision | 14:15 | Frankfurt |
| Bank of England rate decision | 12:00 | London |
| Reserve Bank of India policy statement | usually 10:00 | Mumbai |
Worked example
US CPI is due at 08:30 New York time on Wednesday 15 July 2026. New York is on daylight time (UTC−4) in July, so the release is at 12:30 UTC, 13:30 in London, 18:00 in Mumbai and 21:30 in Tokyo. The same 08:30 release on 15 January would be at 13:30 UTC and 19:00 in Mumbai, because New York is then on standard time (UTC−5).
Spreads often widen and prices can jump in the seconds around a major release. If you use the Trade Planner, consider adding extra slippage for trades placed close to these times.
Frequently asked questions
Why does US release time shift by one hour in March and November?
The US moves its clocks forward on the second Sunday of March and back on the first Sunday of November. Europe changes on the last Sundays of March and October, so for a few weeks the gap between New York and London is four hours instead of five. Pick the date of the release and the converter applies the right rule.
