Everything about how the calculator works, what the charges mean, and where its limits are.

Yes — it’s 100% free, with no account, no sign-up and no usage limits. The calculator runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Equity delivery, equity intraday, futures and options. Each segment applies its own statutory rates — for example, STT is charged on both sides for delivery but only on the sell side for intraday and F&O.
It models a typical discount broker (Zerodha/Groww/Upstox style): equity delivery is free, while intraday and F&O charge a flat fee — the lower of ₹20 or 0.03% — per executed order. Buy and sell each count as one order.
STT/CTT, exchange transaction charges, SEBI charges, GST (18% on brokerage and fees), stamp duty on the buy side, and DP charges on delivery sells. These statutory charges are broadly the same across brokers.
They’re a close estimate. STT, exchange fees, stamp duty and brokerage plans change from time to time and can differ slightly by broker and exchange. Treat the output as an indicative figure and always confirm with your broker’s official contract note before relying on it.
Switch to the Options tab and enter the premium per unit as your buy and sell price, with the total quantity being lots × lot size. STT and exchange charges for options are calculated on the premium value, not the strike.
It’s how far the price needs to move in your favour, per unit, just to cover all charges — the point where your net P&L becomes zero. Anything beyond that is real profit.
